You don’t need to register, and you don’t need to login to Inspira to perform this search. Staff or non-staff, search here is easy and simple. This one would be one of the search options we discussed in the previous lessons.
To use the Job Opening link in Careers Portal, you first go to the portal and scroll down.
It’s somewhere on the middle of the page on the right side of your screen, under the How do I apply column. Then you click on this link. The Job Openings page appears, and you can perform your search using the predefined search categories.
The page has navigation buttons if search gives you many results.
To understand search categories used by the UN Careers Portal:
a. Job Title contains the posting title of the position which links to the job description details.
You will see this details after you choose one of the results;
b. Level refers to the grade level of the position - Here UN has specific levels Professional and Higher Categories, Field services, General Services, and Internships. You will see in the next video more details about these staff categories.;
c. Job ID is a unique number assigned by inspira to every job opening. You might received it from a friend and and you specifically want to look for one job;
d. Job Network refers to groupings of job families;
e. Job Family refers to the occupational group or sub-group to which the position belongs. This guides your search. Explore first the job networks and families before choosing the right one for you;
f. Department/Office indicates the department/office of the position you might look for. You can leave all or choose one.
g. Duty station specifies the location of the position - if you prefer one specific duty station;
h. Deadline refers to the date when job openings posted on the Careers Portal are taken off (by midnight of deadline date). (...)
