Combining Models
The approach you adopt doesn't have to be purely agile or purely traditional. Instead of viewing different project management methodologies as black and white, you should view them as points along a continuum, with many shades of gray.
Often it's ideal to combine agile and traditional principles and practices, recognizing that both have merit.
And if you're moving towards a more agile approach, retain some existing, traditional management practices so you can maintain a level of control while introducing changes.
And here, it’s important to consider the nature of a project and your organization's needs to determine which aspects of traditional project management you should keep and which agile practices will strengthen your management approach and result in a better product.
Lean Values
But no matter which approach you decide to use, it's good practice to combine it with Lean values – striving to eliminate waste and improve the flow of value to the customer.
This applies in any project, even if the other management processes you use are at the highly traditional end of the spectrum.
Simultaneous Implementation
A project team may implement both agile and traditional project management models at the same time.
For instance, it's possible to combine Capability Maturity Model Integration, or CMMI – which is a traditional approach to process improvement – with an agile development process. The result may be more powerful than either approach used in isolation.
CMMI provides discipline. It defines 25 process areas, each with associated goals and practices designed to result in process improvements. A project team may use CMMI to enhance its processes and boost its performance.
The same team may implement an agile process, making frequent deliveries of a working product to the customer and incorporating the customer's feedback in subsequent iterations. This enhances the team's ability to adapt in response to its customer's needs.
Customized Implementation
It's also possible to customize an approach, combining various principles from different agile and traditional methodologies based on what suits your organization and a particular project.
Consider a team that has been asked to develop a large database to link a group of hospitals across the country. You might choose to retain a traditional approach to project planning, budgeting, and risk management.(...)

Master the ADDIE Model to Become a Better Trainer - About the Course
Full course: https://www.udemy.com/master-addie-model-become-better-trainer/?couponCode=ADD09
The most valued resource of any organization is its people. And, in today's professional landscape of technological advancement, employees must be trained to align with the strategic direction of the business. Managers should know that improvements in workplace productivity contribute positively to the overall well-being of the organization.
This course explores the importance of investing in human capital as a means of attaining strategic objectives. It delves into all aspects of corporate training, including the front-end needs analysis, and identifying effective design and development strategies.
It also examines various ways to deliver training, and provides insight on how to accurately evaluate the impact training programs have on a company's bottom line. This course is for corporate directors of learning, education managers and executives involved with learning and development at the organizational or departmental level within an organization.
Education professionals, adult education specialists, vocational trainers and students seeking an academic career will find this particularly useful for immediate needs and for personal development. After completing this course, you will be able to respond to problems that may arise in the absence of top-level management support for training, build an effective training plan, and perform training needs analysis.
You will be able to use the ADDIE model, understand the characteristics of the adult learner and accommodate differences when delivering training. And, you will also be able to recognize when to use traditional methods of delivering training and when to use technology-based, blended learning, or on-the-job methods of training. And this is not all. You will practice Kirkpatrick's four levels of evaluation and determine whether a training effort was a good return on investment.
I am Sorin, and I will be your instructor for the next 2 hours. Maybe more if you choose to practice. I am a professional trainer, since 2005, specialized on management courses. I developed courses for the civil service, prisons, police, educators, aid workers, project specialists and many others. Some people promise you that you will make I don’t know how much money if you take their course.
But, I know that only about 14% of the training is transferred to real life, as one study made by the prestigious Association for Talent Development proves it. So, What I promise is that, I will give you tools that proved to work. And, I will give you my support and commitment to your educational projects. The rest is up to you, wheather you take this course to improve transferable skills or with the intention of becoming a training professional.
Thank you for joining me! I am sure you have your own teaching to do. There is more to this course than just watching videos, and I will give you the opportunity to practice.

Quality Systems, Models and Practice - The Six Sigma Methodology
All courses: https://www.udemy.com/u/sorindumitrascu
Improve performance
Business leaders frequently express their desire to improve their organizations' performance, while decreasing costs and reducing time spent on performing tasks. However, without a structured method to achieve these results, this desire often remains just an abstract goal – something to get around to once "real" business is taken care of.
Six Sigma Methodology
Organizations can improve their business processes by using the tools provided by the Six Sigma methodology, which can also increase performance and decrease process variation.
The term "Six Sigma quality" is often used to describe well-controlled processes. And, the company Motorola is most commonly associated with the term, after naming one of its key initiatives "Six Sigma Quality.”
Six Sigma Meaning
The Six Sigma methodology can help a company achieve breakthrough improvement through the concept of Six Sigma design. Sigma is a letter in the Greek alphabet and is frequently used as a measure of process variability in statistics. Six Sigma Requirements
Six Sigma requires that processes operate such that the nearest engineering requirement is at least plus or minus six sigma from the process mean, and a Six Sigma-capable process produces work that is nearly error free.
When operating at Six Sigma, a process will produce 3.4 parts per million (PPM) non-conformances. On a normal distribution table, a process can endure a shift of as much as 1.5 sigma in either direction before it is detected. The area beyond 4.5 sigma from the mean is 3.4 parts per million.
A World Standard
Six Sigma has become a world standard; thus, the methodology is important to today's organizations that are using it as part of their broader total quality management efforts to reduce process defects.
First used in the 1980s, the Six Sigma quality improvement and business strategy emphasizes three key points: 3.4 defects per million opportunities, reduction of cycle time and strategy infrastructure.
Six Sigma emphasizes that organizations accept no more than 3.4 defects per million products, including customer services. For instance, a company that manufactures airplane components originally reported defects of more than 10 parts per million, but was able to reduce these defects through Six Sigma implementation.
Another important point is Six Sigma's emphasis on reducing cycle times. Companies using the methodology will set aggressive goals of as much as a 30-50% reduction per year. The airplane components manufacturer not only reduced the time required to make each part, it was also able to reduce the time between parts being made and placed on the market.
The third Six Sigma point of emphasis is its focus on reducing costs, which can dramatically affect an organization's bottom line. Because it was able to produce parts with fewer defects in less time, the manufacturer reduced costs associated with lost time and replacing defective products.
Six Sigma Tools
Six Sigma provides organizations with the tools needed to reach their goals by incorporating two well- defined elements: six sigma strategy and six sigma infrastructure strategy The Six Sigma strategy entails all the people involved with a project working toward breakthrough improvement.
This is achieved by first defining a strategy or goal, then performing measurement, analysis, improvement, and control – the DMAIC model. infrastructure The Six Sigma infrastructure revolves around strong senior-level support and involvement. It's most successful when leadership is highly visible and fully engaged; without this level of commitment, Six Sigma initiatives rarely succeed.
